you’re never ready, so just get over it

So I'm currently in a two week period where I don't ever get a full day off. Instead I'm doing a piecemeal deal where I, for not an at all random example, go in at 11 a.m. today and Saturday, and work a half day Tuesday. It's bizarre and stressful. But, I suppose, the show must go on.

My parents left yesterday for a two week trip to Egypt! Amazing, right? They're with a reputable tour company and have been assured it's still safe for tourists. My brother and I were talking last night about how not only is this a trip of a lifetime for them, but also for us as we'll probably never be able to go ourselves because of the political unrest. Side night: Though they're traveling all over the country, they start and end in a Cairo hotel, and their room has a view of the pyramids. Think on that....their hotel room looks out on the PYRAMIDS. Just incredible.

Have an awesome video of a guy free running in the ice and snow:

wickedsin got me interested in parkour years ago and I've been fascinated by it ever since. I've learned that people who are really successful at it have a different spatial vision than others, they literally see things differently. Isn't that interesting?

And, because I'm me, here's a related fic rec:
