The other day, I was talking with someone about classic J2 stories. Not necessarily the hottest or the sexiest thing you've ever read but the ones that have shaped our fanon. The fics that created the personalities and situations...the ones that MADE the "characters" of Jared and Jensen into the people we love so much. The ones that gave all other fics in this fandom a place to jump off from and become something amazing.
Here's a shortlist of what we chose:
Bottoms Up by azewewish. (Jared/Jensen, NC-17, 7,258 words) Jared gets to know Jensen and pretty soon? He's got a crush. Jensen's so competitive that he's got one too.
By The Letter by winterlive(Jared/Jensen, 12,000 words, NC-17) -- Jensen fools around with Jared's iPod and finds a play list with his name on it. Hot, sexy, sweet and very...real-feeling.
Enough by topaz119 and without_me(Jared/Jensen, 5,000 words, NC-17) -- Hands down, the hottest J2 I've ever read. No contest. If you know me at all, then you'll know why. If you don't know me...well, I bet you can still figure it out.
Last Stop: Chicagoland by phaballa -- (Jared/Jensen, NC-17) -- This is Andrea's Big Bang fic and it's the story about what happens to Jared and Jensen after Supernatural. It explores their lives in Chicago as fathers, actors, people, a couple. It's sweet and and hot and hard and conflicted and REAL and so full of love.
No Sleep Till Bedtime by veronamay(Jared/Jensen, 9,500 words, NC-17) -- Jensen is exhausted. Jared takes care of him. They eventually get on a plane and the best jealousy line ever is delivered. Sweetness (and hot sex) abound.
Now, you'll notice that list is only SEVEN stories long. I like things to be symmetrical, so I need TEN. That's where you come in!
What stories would YOU add to this list? Again, not the dirtiest story or the one that made you desperate for alone time (although it might have done that too, I don't know!) but the stories that shaped the fandom, the ones that literally DEFINE Jared and Jensen...what are they?
(Random note: I've recced all seven of the stories on the list above before and what's up there are my original reccing notes. No clue why that matters at all but it's sort of cool to see what I thought about something the very first time I suggested someone else read it.)
