Vegas baby!

Hi y'all! Guess what! I'm home from Vegas! YAAAY! Had a fabulous time. I am, however, dead on my feet.

Most of my vacation pictures have bobbleheads in them, but that's phaballa and txtequilanights story to tell. So, watch their journals for the accompanying fic updates later this week.

I'll post some non-bobblehead pictures latah, but for now, here are some things I want to remember...

We left my house at 5 a.m. Saturday and caught our plane to Vegas. Stowed our bags and went straight into the buffet at the Luxor for breakfast and mimosas. Mmmm. Eventually we checked in and I immediately fell asleep, though I think other people actually did stuff. I know we went and picked up our Justin tickets at one point and we had a lot of Starbucks. (There were THREE in our hotel!)

We spent most of one day exploring the strip. We saw all the cool hotels and took pictures of bobbleheads doing pretty much every conceivable thing you can think of. It was hot but we saw a ton of cool things. Andrea and Rachel had never been to Vegas before, so it was really fun to experience everything new through their eyes. (Lights! Shows! Hooker cards! People in costumes!) We literally walked from one end of the strip to the other and I have never been so tired in my LIFE.

Sunday was JUSTIN DAY. anasuede and I wanted to make a very special Vegas memory first though. After a bit of a hassle (and two cab rides and more hotel-exploring), we finally found a place that did both piercings and tattoos.

(It's the latitude and longitude of Dallas.)

That didn't hurt even a tiny bit and it only took about three minutes total. I told De that from now on, I'm only getting tattoos done in tiny pieces. It'll be like a giant mosaic project or something. Soooo much less painful than my other one.

After the guy finished up, this happened:

Tattoo guy: OK, we're done.
Wendy: OK.
Tattoo guy: Is your daughter getting pierced?
Wendy: Huh?
Tattoo guy: Your daughter. Is she ready to get pierced?
Wendy. *heavy sigh* Yeah. She is.

Wendy: De, the guy just asked if my daughter was ready.
De: *handing me her camera* Here Mom.

I mean REALLY!

So then we had dinner and stuff and all put on our matching "My Heart Bleeded Boy" t-shirts and went to see JUSTIN.

I really like Good Charlotte, and I was excited that they were opening for JT.

They are very much a band that stands on the stage and sings. It isn't a PRODUCTION, you know? So Justin's complicated stage was a little rough for them, but they did well. Joel is still adorable in-person and Benji has lost an insane amount of weight since the last time I saw him.

They sounded great and were clearly having fun. They sang...Anthem, Lifestyles, I Just Wanna Live, I Don't Wanna Be in Love, that weird Brass knuckles song that I do not understand and some other stuff. I was very satisfied. *beams*

They joked about being in Vegas and wanting to party and Benji said "yeah, but we have to be careful because when Joel parties, his clothes come off and people get pregnant." And Joel was just like...*facepalm* It was adorable.

At the end of their set, Joel asked everyone in the audience to get their cameras out and then take a picture on the count of three. When he hit three, they turned ALL the house lights off and all you could see was flashbulbs lighting the place up like the sun. It was awesome.

I heard on the radio this morning that the Vegas show was "family night" or some such and that all the cast and crew had their fams there on-site. (Lionel was even there with Nicole!) Andrea said she thought Justin's show was much tamer than normal so I guess maybe that was why?

OHOHOH! Also! They had these screens up in the venue and you could text things and they'd post them up on the screens. And someone texted "I love lamp." That HAS to be an LJ person, so I want a confession. Who did it? Come be my new friend!

Anyway, then? JUSTIN.

It was AWESOME. So cool and fun and energetic. I want to rub the worry lines between Justin's eyes away with my thumb. So cute! The stage was amazing and the lighting and dancing and choreography and everything else was incredible. I was totally entertained and captivated. He played every popular song he's ever had, I think. We were screaming and yelling and flipping out. SO MUCH FUN.

Justin seemed to be having a good time with it too. And, of course, he knew exactly how to whip the crowd into a frenzy.

We had amazing seats. I could see everything. The way the show is done, you can pretty much always see everything on the screens, but I could have seen it from my seat too. We were so close, I could actually see Justin's face, you know? It was really great.

I feel like I should say more here but other then AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! And continued flail, I don't know what! It was just a really great show. And yes, I loved Timbaland too!

I can hardly wait to get home tonight and watch the MSG concert so I can re-live it all.

So then we got home around 9 p.m. Monday and I did laundry and took a shower and went to bed. Andrea and Rachel stayed up and watched the MSG concert and Manband until I forced them to go to bed around 1 a.m. because I couldn't sleep with them still up. 6:30 a.m. comes early y'all. I am DEAD. I left them snoozing on the couch and I want them all to wake up now so we can re-hash. *beams*
