I've gotten several letters in the mail recently, which always is happy making!! Thank you to rei_c, kashmir1, weesta, and wordplay__!

When is this SPN mini-hiatus over? March?

AMC is doing this really cool thing on February 21 called the AMC Best Picture Showcase. Basically they're running a marathon of all five Best Picture nominees. $30 gets you tickets to all five movies and endless popcorn! FUN. I keep waffling about whether I want to do it or not (I'm not sure my attention span or my back can handle ten hours of movie-watching) but I think it's a really cool idea.

Saturday I had lunch with two of my very best and oldest friends. It's so re-charging to see them again! One of them just moved into this incredible new house and we toured that too. So much fun! I miss them.

I spent the rest of the weekend laying on the couch alternating between reading books and mainlining the first series of "Big Bang Theory" on DVD. (I think perhaps I may have ODed as last night I dreamed about Sheldon trying to build a human out of plastic doll parts, but whatever!)

Check this out: http://www.sheldonshirts.com That site tells you where to get all of Sheldon's and Leonard's shirts, as well as Wolowitz's belt buckles! NEAT. I reallllly want this one, of a caffeine molecule.

This week for my adult fiction class, we're doing the Christian Fiction genre and I read The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. I've read it before and it's still a powerful and interesting book. I appreciate the "strong woman" aspect of it and I love seeing bits of history "filled in" like this. I also was interested to find how many different things I got out of it this go-round, versus when I first read it ten years ago. Interesting book and worth a read, but not my favorite thing ever.

I also read The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. Not for class, just 'cause I wanted to. It won the Newberry Medal and I somehow missed that! Anyway, it's really adorable and a quick read. I enjoyed it a lot. I've heard the movie isn't as good, which is sad, but the book is great.

I also started reading the first book in the Administration Series, which wook77 recommended to me. I'm having a tough time getting into it, but we'll see how it goes.

LASTLY. Here's some music I've been listening to a lot simply because it feels really good to sing it really loud:

Gives You Hell by the All American Rejects
Disturbia by Rhianna
If You Seek Amy by Britney Spears
Be Still by Kelly Clarkson
Big Bang Theory by Barenaked Ladies
Vampire by People in Planes
What a Catch by Fall Out Boy
