there’s always going to be another mountain

Here's my newest DW roadblock, in addition to only reading one flist -- I will only read one flist ONCE. And 95 percent of the peeps on DW are cross-posting to LJ and DW. Which means I have to sort through 7000 entries I've already read in order to find the one or two posts of new content. The chances of me actually doing that seem unlikely. Just something to think about.

Last week, I read two books. The first was The Last Dragonlord by Joanne Bertin I liked it, it feels very fanfic-ey. It definitely wasn't brilliant writing but the story kept my attention. There are dragons! And sex (not with the dragons)! And soultwins!

I also read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. This is an easy read (I finished it in one afternoon) about a strong female author in 1946 looking for her next book topic. During her research, she gets to know all these folks on the island of Guernsey, which was occupied by Nazis during WW II. The book tells a lot about how the island survived that struggle and about how the strength of the main characters inspired each other to keep going. Despite the serious subject it's fairly lighthearted. The characters are great and I felt connected to them. Good book!

phaballa and why_me_why_not and I saw the Hannah Montana movie, which I frankly ADORED. I really love this song: The Climb.

Andrea and I also re-watched Twilight, which I still enjoyed. Though a bucket of margaritas makes it even more enjoyable!

And OF COURSE, all the Aussie con stories about Jared and Jensen are delightful! Love those boys so much, they make my LIFE. That all lifted my mood a lot.

Busy but good week coming up. Onward and upward my friends!
