Before my brother moved out of his house, I asked him to do two things for me: mow the lawn and have the house cleaned. He agreed.
Last week he texted to say he'd just finished moving the lawn, so I needed to get a service there in two weeks and I'd be fine. YAY! Well, it turns out he moved the front lawn but not the back. In fact, I'm not sure the back yard ever has been mowed as it's about knee-high. Frustrating for many reasons, not the least of which is that I can't move in until some repairs are done to the fence and right now, we can't even GET to the fence. *practices deep breathing*
Oh, and I was over at the house yesterday in order to let the housekeeper in. Which, I suppose technically my brother DID call and ask her to clean the house for me. Even though I had to, you know, let her in, buy all the cleaning supplies and actually pay her. That was a lovely spur-of-the-moment surprise, let me tell you.
Now I will praise.
The housekeeper worked her butt off and the house looks AMAZING. I'm super pumped to move in now.
Unrelated, yesterday evening I met an ex-co-worker for dinner and we had FABULOUS pizzas from Taverna with about a ton of perfectly melted cheese on top, and then we went to Spiral Diner and had vegan sundaes. So. Freaking. Good.
I'm all caught up on Royal Pains and have decided I really like it! Even though I'm fairly burned on medical-themed TV shows, this one has really great characters and it's fun to watch.
I saw Despicable Me and it was pretty hilarious. The scene where he reads the kids a bedtime story is my favorite. It's possible I, uhm, over-identified with it, haha.
Also, spell check is a nice thing. Just in general.
