like glitter's raining on me

Today, Awesome December continues! My Mom and I are going to hear a children's choir perform a Christmas concert. Should be just the thing to get us into the holiday spirit! Also, my Dad is coming over to do some chores, which never ceases to amaze me. I love my parents.

Then, tonight, I am meeting the youth librarians from Central for their holiday dinner. They asked me to join in so, of course, I said YES. Yummy mexican food and good friends? BRING IT.

And THEN, late tonight after I already am asleep, annkiri is wandering through briefly on her way home from Tulsa. I probably will not even see her this stopover, but I still just like knowing she's here.

Speaking of holiday spirit, applegeuse put together a collection of holiday podfics, that is stellar! It's SPN and J2 mostly, nothing explicit, lots of gen and schmoopy PG-stuff. HAPPY PLACE.

I ran across this article a week or so ago and really love it. You should check it out! Supernatural -- We Are an Awesome Fandom. In specific, it details recent charity efforts SPN fans have gotten behind -- Pada!baby fundraising for St. Jude's, Team Levi, People's Choice Award voting, Misha's scavenger hunt....I tell you, reading it made my heart grow three sizes. I love you guys!!

Unrelated to fandom's greatness, I really wish these Chocolate Covered Cherry Shooters would just appear in my kitchen. I WANT TO DRINK THEM NOW PLEASE.

Lastly!! I did this meme last year and it was so illuminating that I thought I'd try it again.

2011 in review...one sentence at a time:

January: Well, here we are! January 1, 2011. 1/1/11. EXCITING!

February: Still feeling really poorly and I'm starting to simultaneously get a little scared about it, and also slip right on into denial. Think I'll focus on the denial today though because the world has frozen overnight and I couldn't get to anyone anyway.

March: Hey, it's Jensen's birthday! I hope he has an excellent thirty-third year on this earth. Now for the important bit...where's the fic!

April: I kicked butt on my March goals! GO ME. After failing so bad in February, it's nice to be feeling good about myself again.

May: Drew was suddenly having trouble breathing today so my brother took him into the emergency room. They diagnosed croup, did a breathing treatment, gave him a steroid shot and sent him home.

June: Today was my first Summer Reading special program! We had 55 people attend, which is AWESOME and the program was AMAZING and it was all just very successful and happy-making.

July: "Judge nothing, you will be happy. Forgive everything, you will be happier. Love everything, you will be happiest."
--Sri Chinmoy

August: Oooohhh it has been years months days since I last posted and I have no idea what has happened in the meantime. Lately I feel a lot like the fast forward button on my life is stuck. *shakes remote* I would prefer time to pass at a normal speed, please!

September: Today I got my hair cut and colored at a new place and she did an AWESOME job. I am super pleased. The color especially looks nice, I think. And, the price was half (literally half) of what I paid the last time I had my hair done.

October: Y'all! It's October! October is my most favorite month of the year. We're past the 100 degree days of summer and there are multiple excuses to eat candy in public. What's not to love!

November: Last Saturday was the one year anniversary of my library branch's opening. I convinced the manager to throw a branch birthday party. Then, she wanted to hold it for two hours -- HAHAHA. I said no and convinced her to hold activities alllll day long (face painting, crafts, movie, etc.) We did, and it was SO FUN. Exhausting, but fun. We had 663 people come through the door that day, which for a Saturday, for a branch our size, is HUGE. Success!

December: Good gracious, the last two days have been INSANE. I had meetings both days and was gone from the library most of both of them. Thinking about how torn up my section will be when I return makes me want to weep.

I had kind of blocked out how hard things were at the beginning of this year. I am so grateful to be on this side of all that. The second half was pretty much stellar and I can't wait to see what 2012 brings! Thanks so much to all of you for being part of my life and my experiences. You make the bad times bearable and the good times extra fun. ♥ ♥ ♥
