We get a new SPN ON Valentine's Day. New Sam! My faaaaavorite present!

In years past, I've been very anti-Valentine's Day. I even used to always make a point to wear black that day. But I don't know. This year I don't mind it. In fact, I think it's pretty awesome that I get to spend the whole day with someone I know loves me a whole lot...myself. And I'm wishing all y'all a lot of love too.

Some Cooking Questions

First of all, I just made cream cheese frosting, from scratch. This is EPIC in my world.

Second, what's the real way to cut an onion? No, seriously. I always end up with chunks, never rings, no matter what direction I cut. I fail at onion cutting 101. What's the trick?

Third, I'm making a spinach quiche in the morning, but the last time I made it, it turned out completely flat. What'd I do wrong (so I don't repeat it)?

Fourthly, if you have a favorite recipe that's super easy to make, you should share it with me. I'm a vegetarian but eggs and milk and cheese are ok. Anything...main dish, side dish, dessert, whatever. As long as it's yummy and easy.

Fifthly, what are YOUR cooking quandaries?
