It's Always Worth It

some things

  • I bought a Blendtec blender and it's amazing. I cannot stop BLENDING things, for real. I'm making about two smoothies a day and they are delicious. I've had more fruits and veggies in the last week than in the last two months combined.

  • Tomorrow is Pancake Friday! I'm meeting a co-worker and her kids for, you guessed it, pancakes! I love this tradition! BEST.

  • I am reading the last book in the AshFall series by Mike Mullin and it is so, so good. The violence is almost more than I can handle, but relevant to the story. Just...so good.

  • I'm having dinner with my parents Sunday for Mom's birthday and, because I'm such a good daughter, I didn't have a gift for her. At lunch today I got on Amazon, found just what she wanted and it will be on my doorstep Saturday -- with free shipping, thank you Amazon Prime!

  • There are clean, fresh sheets on my bed.

  • I am obsessed with Stephen Amell's workout videos on Facebook. They are literally better than porn. Oh my good gravy.

  • I have not read LJ in several days and feel like such a loser. I'm sorry. I WILL get back in the habit, I miss you guys!

  • Earlier, in the car, I had an epiphany. You know how they say "don't read the comments" about internet articles? Twitter is ALL COMMENTS. It's just...everyone's whacky opinions, all the time! So much became clear to me, with that revelation.

Here are five (yes, five) quotes that I like today:

"If you can quit, quit. If you can't quit, stop complaining -- this is what you chose."
    --J.A. Konrath

"They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself."
    --Andy Warhol

"When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny."
    --Paulo Coelho

"We can't be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don't have something better."
    ― C. JoyBell C.

"I'm on a roller coaster that only goes up, my friend."
    --John Green, TFioS
