baby, take a chance or you’ll never ever know

Yet once again, I am having a busy week, it never stops. Last Monday I went to another branch to do story time, substituting in for a librarian who was on vacation. She does an active story time where literacy skills are taught through movement and songs. I've watched her do it in the past (I even took Addison once), so it was super fun to do it myself. I LOVED it and was pouring sweat by the end. It was a really, really good time.

Then, I took some of the things she used in that story time and incorporated them into my own "normal" story time on Tuesday and it all worked like a charm. The kids LOVED it, the parents commented on it...success. Will be doing again, for sure.

Yesterday, there was a family browsing in the DVD section, and one of them was singing and humming Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" very softly. It was pretty amazing. They couldn't see me from where they were, so once they emerged, I commented to the woman that now the song was stuck in my head too. She looked confused. I was all.."Bieber? Boyfriend?" Then, the teenage boy turned BRIGHT RED and was all..."Oh, that was me..." ADORABLE. Love it.

Max and Val will NOT stop digging in the back yard. They do it at night, when I'm asleep and can't stop them. I woke up this morning to find the entire downstairs area coated in mud. It's...disgusting. I'm really frustrated and not at all sure what to do about the situation.

This is my late day, so I'm going to Target and Dollar Tree here shortly, and then off to work. SIGH. Working 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. is just never gonna be my favorite shift.
