Made a HUGE work-related mistake today. I do not want to confess it to my boss on Monday. *wibbles*
Did my very first actual teen program Friday and it was a smashing success! We played table top Twitter -- basically, I choose a quote from two different books, wrote them on butcher paper and put each on a separate table. Then, I gave all the kids sharpies and said no talking for five minutes. They had to respond to my original "tweet" (the quote) and then respond to at least one other person's "tweet." The only question they had was "can we use hashtags?" OBVIOUSLY I said yes! They were super into it and it was REALLY fun. Also, hilarious and smart and just exactly what I wanted to lead into a discussion about the actual books. After, they asked if they could take pictures of the tables and tweet them for real, I said sure and that they could take the actual papers, if they wanted. They did want, so we ripped 'em off, rolled 'em up, and sent them with. So much fun! I loved it and can't wait to do it again!
I bought black boots with white heart cutouts on the sides.
We had to clean out the back storage room Friday, which was an enormous, stressful project. At one point, we unearthed a life-sized cardboard cut-out of Abe Lincoln (??) and so one of my co-workers forced each person to grab a prop and pose for a picture with Abe, and it basically was amazing.
I miss Teen Wolf. And, by "Teen Wolf," I mean "a lot of hot guys with their shirts off on my TV screen for hours." Just so we're clear.
I was working up to an SPN rant but then I said nah, never mind. I'm going to keep watching, so why bother complaining? Just keep making Sam look pretty and I'll ultimately be fine.
Almost done reading Reached by Ally Condie. It's pretty good, I guess, but I feel like I've been reading it for a hundred years. I would like to be finished now, please!
