growing up will make you humble, getting old will make you tired
Woke up yesterday with a really terrible headache and incredible nausea. It was 5:30 p.m. before I even could stand without throwing up. I am just NOT someone who stays in bed all day but I barely left it yesterday, except for bathroom trips. Unfortunate too as I had a list as long as my arm of things that needed to be accomplished. Alas, none of them happened.
Woke up today and my head still hurts badly. But I can sit up (and, apparently, type) so that's progress. I still made a doctor's appointment for this afternoon though. Blah.
But I tell you what, I cannot be dealing with this on my vacation, which starts on FRIDAY.
Trying hard to make peace with not being able to get everything done that I want to, but how? What happens to all the things that don't get taken care of??
In better news, let's do some #happythings because I really, really need them right now:
annkiri and I went to the Stars/Penguins game last Thursday and it was really fun. Great game and we had a fun time together. And, NACHOS. I also have a ex-co-worker who loves hockey and moved to New York about a year ago. She was in town visiting her family and went to the game too so I got to briefly chat with her, which was fun and unexpected.
B and I also spent some time in the car sharing our feelings about the Captive Prince books. It mostly was just high pitched squeaking, but still!
Reading the new book by my current fave author and it's so good. (Stand Off by Andrew Smith)
My gel nails have held up so well this time. I LOVE them. The tech definitely did a much better job. Even though I'm having the perfectly good nails re-done on Wednesday. Because. Vacation. Sadly the tech who did them is off on the only day I can go in, but the receptionist promised to find me "a good girl," so...fingers crossed.
I have Magic Mike XXL on DVD to watch if I can sit up long enough. So, some sexy shirtless guys are in my future. (BTW, did I ever share how author Alex Sanchez told me that a young Matt Bomer was the model on the cover of his book Rainbow Boys? AMAZING.)
